Overview
Mack Spades is a browser-based card game. This policy explains what information the game stores, what may be sent to the backend, and how purchase-related data is handled.
This policy is written for the current live version of the game. If the product adds new account, social, analytics, or advertising features later, this policy should be updated.
What The Game Stores On Your Device
Mack Spades uses browser storage to keep the game usable between visits. Depending on what you use, this may include:
- A stable local player ID used to reconnect your game state and future purchases.
- Your display name.
- Theme, sound, music, layout, and table-view preferences.
- Your selected deck skin and, when used, a local custom deck image reference.
- Cached account and store state used to make the site feel faster and more consistent.
What May Be Sent To The Mack Spades Backend
When you create or join multiplayer rooms, save an account, generate a restore code, or use account-linked checkout, the game may send data to the Mack Spades backend running on AWS.
- Your player ID.
- Your display name.
- Your selected avatar, voice preference, and deck preference.
- Your room activity needed to run the live game, such as room code, seat, bids, card plays, reactions, and reconnect state.
- Your optional email address if you save it on the account page or use account-linked checkout.
- Your account profile, restore-code state, and owned pack entitlements.
Payments And Stripe
Paid pack checkout is handled through Stripe. Mack Spades may send Stripe the information needed to create a checkout session, including your player ID and optional email address.
After a successful purchase, Mack Spades may receive limited purchase metadata back from Stripe, such as:
- Stripe session ID.
- Purchased pack key.
- Purchase amount and currency.
- Email address associated with the checkout, when available.
Mack Spades does not store your full payment card number. Payment card handling is performed by Stripe under Stripe’s own policies.
How Information Is Used
- To run the game and keep rooms synchronized.
- To reconnect players to the correct room and seat.
- To save account preferences and restore codes.
- To apply purchased entitlements such as Founder, Custom Deck, Host Mode, and Voice features.
- To troubleshoot game, account, or purchase issues.
What Mack Spades Does Not Currently Do
- No third-party advertising network is intentionally built into the current live site.
- No separate analytics platform is intentionally documented as part of the current live site.
- No public player profile directory or social feed is intentionally exposed in the current live site.
Retention
Data stored in your browser remains there until you clear browser storage, remove the relevant files, or the game overwrites that data.
Backend profile, entitlement, restore-code, and room-related records may remain on the Mack Spades backend until they are deleted, replaced, or cleaned up operationally.
Your Choices
- You can avoid saving an email by leaving the email field blank.
- You can clear local browser storage to remove device-side saved state.
- You can avoid purchases entirely and still use the free gameplay features that are available.
Children
Mack Spades is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If that changes, the product and policy should be updated before those features are offered.
Contact And Privacy Requests
If you need help with account, restore, entitlement, or privacy questions, use the current Mack Spades support/contact channel provided with the game or purchase flow. A dedicated published privacy contact should be added as the product matures.
